It seems we can have many experiences and have many insights and yet hardly change in a fundamental way. We might have endless spiritual experiences but we don’t necessarily know how to learn from them. Experience and insight are not enough to create the transformation we want. So what makes it possible for us to learn, mature, and fulfill our potential?
The soul, the living consciousness that we are, needs nourishment, just as the physical body needs it. The more our soul has the nourishment it needs – and metabolizes it – the more it will develop and mature in its capacities and possibilities and potentials. Then we’re better able to metabolize more of our experiences and make them useful for our lives.
We naturally assume this nourishment is outside us. But it is the presence of Being itself that provides the essential nourishment the soul needs for her maturation and development.
